Sistemi Klein | New business website and e-commerce B2B
Sistemi Klein is a leading company in the supply of cutting equipment and tools for woodworking and its derivatives. This is achieved through continuous investments in the use of modern and innovative technologies and in the training of a team of specialized technicians, designers, and dynamic sales experts.
The project was born out of the need to create a single website that encompasses both the institutional part of Sistemi Klein and the B2B e-commerce site. Prior to this, the websites were divided across two different domains. The institutional website was managed through the Umbraco CMS and included a website in four languages with a product catalog and all related information (descriptions, attributes, technical specifications, etc.) visible to all users. The B2B e-commerce site was managed through Magento 1 in two languages, Italian and English, and users could register on the site and purchase Sistemi Klein products only upon approval by the site administrator.
This entire system was recreated on the Prestashop CMS platform, which includes both the institutional and e-commerce parts. Anyone can browse the site in five different languages: unregistered users can view the products and their features, while registered users, in addition to browsing the site and viewing the products, can see the list prices and make purchases. The data entry to populate the new site was carried out by merging two different databases (Umbraco and Magento) to import them onto a single platform, which is Prestashop.
In addition to the technical work that oversaw the entire project, a graphic study was conducted to define the style, colors, and shapes of the site following usability and accessibility standards. Linear and geometric shapes were used to evoke the company’s core business and convey its professionalism. The colors, green and lime yellow, alternate on the website pages to add movement and reflect the company’s branding colors.
The project was completed with a total revision of the institutional content, making it more concise and streamlined in line with web-optimized writing rules for organic indexing on Google. In general, the previous texts were very austere and rigid, but the new ones aim to convey all the dynamism and modernity that characterize the company.
